Our Process
The first step is always to meet with our customer and go over the scope of the job. We will discuss what items are valuable & sentimental to you, and ensure these items get the extra special care they deserve.
Next, we want to deal with the things that matter most to you – your belongings. We will work with you to carefully pack & move your undamaged contents to a safe place. We will also determine which of your contaminated items can be cleaned & returned to you, and which need to be disposed of. With the help of the Esporta Wash System and the Fireline System, we can now save up to 85% of your belongings that were damaged by fire. We will also help to list any items that need to be disposed of, including food & paper products.

Then we will deal with your home. Depending on the severity of the fire & soot damage, several different steps will need to be taken. Any burnt areas will need to be removed and/or re-supported for structural integrity of the home. Any water damaged areas (often caused by the extinguishing process) will need to be removed, disinfected, & properly dried. Any areas that have smoke damage will need to be thoroughly cleaned using specialty cleaning agents. In a mild, smoke damage fire, often times cleaning is enough to eliminate the smoke odour from your home. If cleaning does not eliminate the odour completely, an odour blocker may need to be applied to the walls, ceilings, and/or floors. It is important to remember, if soot is left for long periods of time it can etch the surface of many materials, sometimes in as little as 2 weeks time. Calling in a fire damage restoration technician right away is your best chance to restore your home properly.
Lastly, we want to meet with our customer again. We want to ensure you are happy with the work done and understand the next steps in the process.
