Trusted Saskatoon New Category Announced - Trusted Saskatoon Non-Profits

The Trusted Saskatoon team ran a contest on the Trusted Saskatoon Facebook page at the end of 2018 to find a new category for the Trusted Saskatoon directory. We received 100's of nominations, from children's activities to fencing, however, there was a clear winner, with over 200 nominations, we are pleased to announce the new category will be Trusted Saskatoon NON-PROFITS!

Trusted Saskatoon Non-Profits.

As a small business in Saskatchewan, Trusted has prioritized community support as part of what we do from day 1. In 2017 we were recognized for our efforts as the recipient of the Saskatchewan Chamber Of Commerce ABEX Award for community support, so we were thrilled that this was the category that people in Saskatoon most wanted to see on our directory.

There is no ME in Community…Just WE.

So What's The Plan for Trusted Saskatoon Non-Profits Category?

We are pleased to announce that we will be GIFTING listings and annual Trusted partnerships in the new category to 4 Saskatoon Non- Profits. Each Year in January we will renew the category and we will rely on the public and the existing Trusted Saskatoon partners to help us find new Saskatoon and area non-profits to promote. Over the course of the year, we will volunteer our time and resources to help spread awareness of the 4 Trusted Saskatoon Non- profits organization activities, events and goals!

This is an in-kind donation worth $4000 per non-profit, and being a Trusted Saskatoon partner means they will receive promotion in so many areas including:

 1. 2 weeks of free radio ads.
 2. Video interview and promotion of video.
 3. Regular Trusted partner promotion on our social media channels - including our Feature Partner Of the Week posts.

The Trusted team is growing we are pumped to introduce 4 amazing new members

The Trusted Team ( TrustedSaskatoon directory , TrustedRegina DirectoryTrusted Marketing Services)  team are thrilled to welcome the newest team members to our impressive & very wonderful and talented team of Trusted pro's across Saskatchewan.

Lets introduce these 4 ladies to you in alphabetical order!

Anna Kunz - Trusted Saskatoon Marketing Consultant

The Trusted Team is thrilled to welcome another WONDER WOMAN to our team of trustworthy, hardworking, passionate professionals in Saskatchewan!

Anna Kunz joined Trusted as a Trusted Saskatoon Marketing Consultant. Her role is an exciting combination of Trusted Saskatoon Directory client management and Trusted Marketing Services consulting. Anna has an impressive history of consistently exceeding client and employer expectations. She has achieved this, in part, as her personality is a rare combination of big heart and sound logic. Anna is an organized perfectionist who focuses on finding solutions for both herself and her clients! This mix is a wonderful fit for the big role that she has taken on at Trusted!

Originally from Saskatoon, Anna moved out of town several years ago as Regan, her husband had a wonderful career opportunity near Melfort. Now they live along with their 2 adorable children William and Carly on an acreage in between St Brieux and Melfort, Saskatchewan. Anna has a garden that anyone would be envious of, and we know from experience that she shares her delicious home grown produce with friends, co-workers AND her clients! So be nice to her!

In her work life, Anna has worked in everything from retail to the non-profit sector, with lots in between. This means she can relate to most of her clients, as she has had first-hand experience of the challenges they face. It was clear that Anna was determined to set herself apart and to be an asset to their organization. Most recently Anna worked for the Heart and Stroke Foundation as their Community Engagement Coordinator North working with schools to run Jump Rope for Heart as well as supporting other fundraisers. She had a large territory and spent a lot of time on the road strengthening relationships and raising LOTS of money for the Foundation.

Heart health is very personal to Anna’s family. Her youngest child, William (3), was born with a serious heart defect. Earlier this year William had open heart surgery at the Stollery Children’s Hospital in Edmonton.  Marla Janzen (Trusted Saskatoon realtor) and Sara Wheelwright ( Trusted founder) organized a fundraising event to take the burden off the Kunz family. On the night, thanks to the generosity of the attendees $1000’s was raised to help with the costs associated with the travel for the surgery. We are thrilled to report that surgery went amazingly well, William is a thriving, healthy and happy little boy.

The journey a parent of a sick child takes is a tough road; Anna coped with this exceptionally well. She started a blog ‘The Heart Of A Boy ‘ www.kunzwordpress.org to record their journey. This was to both help other parents, but also to keep friends and family up to date with William’s progress. The blog is beautifully written and it showcases Anna’s ‘wordsmithery’, such an important asset in her new marketing role!

Anna will be in Saskatoon a few days a week and home office based for the rest of the time. She will expand her client base. She has all the tools, traits and talent to build an extremely successful career at Trusted.

Kelly Rice - Trusted Interactive Consultant

Our newest interactive consultant Kelly is no stranger to the Trusted team, she was a social media consultant for us for 18 months prior to her starting with us full time in June.
Born and raised in Saskatchewan, after high school Kelly went travelling for a while around Canada. When she came home, she had decided graphic design and online was what she wanted to do! She is a creative, quirky vegetarian with a quick wit and a big grin. In addition, we speak from experience when tell you she has green fingers. She grows produce in a garden on her family farm, her canning and pickling skills are legendary. The dill pickled eggs are our favourite!

After finishing school, she started her own home based social media and website company to hone her skills. In 2013 she created her Gluten Free Regina Facebook Page to highlight restaurants and eateries where people like her can eat safely! She has a passion for making Regina a better place for people with gluten intolerance! Kelly’s mission is to document all of the places in Regina that offer gluten free options. Now she also has a website - check it out for yourself at  www.glutenfreeregina.com
Kelly's role is with Trusted Marketing Services and she works with a base of marketing clients who's social media and content marketing the Trusted team manages. The way we do social media is very different to other marketing companies out there. At Trusted we get to know the businesses, their team and the products and services they sell well. Our aim is to promote them effectively to their local audience and we work hard to make them stand out from the crowd!  Kelly will be popping in on a regular basis to meet all of her clients in person to take pictures, find out who they are and who their ideal clients are! Kelly lives in Regina with her husband Drew, some cats and her new addition, an adorable puppy. In her spare time she like to dress her pets up in costumes....really!  Ha ha !

Victoria Hall- Trusted Administrative Assistant

Victoria has been part of the Trusted Team since the Spring. It has been so busy at Trusted and without her help, we would have struggled to manage the growth we have been experiencing! Victoria is heading up our accounts department, this means she does all of the invoicing, maintains and enters the clients account details into Quickbooks and runs through all payments. Victoria strengths are organization and attention to detail, she takes a lot of pride in getting the job done right, the first time! Victoria also boasts computer and graphic design skills,  this was a real bonus as we continue to  grow the marketing agency side of the business - check out all we do here: www.trustedmarketingservices.com
Victoria is hard working and brings a wonderful, quiet, calming element into our sometimes crazy office, which at time can be a marketing frenzy!! In her spare time Victoria is heavily involved in the Girl Guides of Canada, she loves her sweet kitty Ivy and also loves to garden!

It may surprise you to know that Victoria had been struggling to find a job for some time. It may also surprise you ( especially with her role at Trusted and her skills as we just outlined ) that Victoria is visually impaired and is registered disabled.  We invited her for an interview after we received her resume from the Neil Squire Society this Spring.  Never heard of them? Don't worry, neither had we .....let's tell  you all about them!

The Neil Squire Society(new window)(new window) is the only national not-for-profit organization in Canada that has for over thirty years empowered Canadians with disabilities through the use of computer-based assistive technologies, research and development, and various employment programs. Through our work, we help our clients remove barriers so that they can live independent lives and become active members of the workplace and our society. Specializing in education and workplace empowerment, the Society has served over 30,000 people since 1984.

They contacted Trusted as part of their WORKING TOGETHER Initiative :

Giving Employers Access to Skilled, Job Ready Candidates with Disabilities

The Neil Squire Society will:

  • Connect employers with qualified candidates
  • Provide ongoing support
  • Identify clients who may be eligible for a wage subsidy

Advantages:

  • Experience the benefits of hiring someone with a disability
  • Experience a reduced turnover rate
  • Encourage a more diverse and inclusive working environment
  • Minimize the hiring and training cost of a new employee
Sara Wheelwright the Trusted Boss lady has this to say to other employers in Saskatchewan...

" Lets face it good people are HARD to find! I am so grateful that Neil Squires connected us to Victoria. I can say hand on heart she is a great hire and a wonderful team member. For the people who looked at her resume before we did,  and chose to focus on her obvious disability, rather than look at her many many abilities, you really did miss out!! I recommend you to contact Neil Squires if you are looking for help."

At Trusted we pride ourselves on being inclusive, accepting and supportive of our team. In return we have a loyal, hard working passionate bunch of people! We get the job done and we have FUN!!

Thats takes us to our 4th and final new team member ....meet Vimy our foster cat!

Vimy just joined us in August, as you can see she is making herself  at home as the Trusted office cat!
She is a Saskatoon SPCA rescue cat and was found on the streets of Saskatoon. The SPCA thinks she is approximately 2 years old and she's a very petite tortoiseshell. This pretty little lady has lots to say and has taken no time at all to settle herself in very nicely thank you !
No knee is safe at Trusted HQ and even Ryan our Edward School Of Business coop student and the Trusted token male ( NOT a cat person ), has been known to let her sit on his lap after she miaowed at him 'till he gave in!

Sara, Solange, Victoria and Leanna have enjoyed having her around and we are spoiling her like crazy. She came with the basics and now she has a scratching post, toys and this huge cat tree.  So far the clients are enjoying having her greet them at the door!

Check out Vimy on Sara's knee- she seems engrossed in the website design and SEO she's doing . A cat with marketing smarts!

If you are interested in finding out more about adopting Vimy, who is really an absolute sweetheart of a kitty, please contact us and we can pass on your details to SPCA . If you are interested in fostering or adopting a cat of your own, they are extending their Cat Adoption Drive which means all cats in the shelter are available for adoption for a suggested donation of $75. The shelter is still full of wonderful felines, and we’d love to help find happy homes for each and every one of them.

Thanks for reading about the Trusted team!!
