SASKATOON HEALTH EXPERT provides a TRUSTED TIP on NON SURGICAL Cosmetic Treatments on the SASKATOON DIRECTORY

Do you find that flaws in your appearance stand in the way of your confidence?

A non-surgical cosmetic procedure may be the solution you are looking for to improve your self-esteem! Global Healthcare can connect you to Botox treatments, laser treatments, and Restylane treatments to enhance your natural appearance.

What is Botox?

Botox is a drug made from a toxin produced by the bacterium Clostridium Botulinum. It’s the same toxin that causes a life-threatening type of food poisoning called botulism. Doctors use it in small doses to treat health problems, including: temporary removal of facial wrinkles, severe underarm sweating, cervical dystonia, uncontrollable blinking, and misaligned eyes. Botox injections work by weakening or paralyzing certain muscles or by blocking certain nerves. Side effects can include pain at the injection site, flu-like symptoms, headache and upset stomach. Injections in the face may also cause temporary drooping eyelids. You should not use Botox if you are pregnant or breast feeding. ( See the You Tube Video below for a Demonstration- and before and after shots)

What are Laser Treatments?

Laser treatment is a popular non-surgical way to deal with various skin conditions. Laser treatments provide effective lasting results. These treatment sessions take various times and allow you to return to work or daily activities immediately after a session. While some patients may be able to tolerate a laser treatment without the use of anaesthetic, others may find the application of an anaesthetic cream helpful. The anaesthetic cream can provide adequate relief from discomfort during the procedure. Fortunately, the complications of laser hair removal are rare if it's done by an experienced and skilled physician. You should expect a certain degree of pain, swelling and redness after each treatment session.

What is Restylane?

Restylane is a temporary injectable that consists of a stabilized hyaluronic acid and a physiological sodium chloride solution. Restylane is a gel that is injected into the skin to add volume to lips and lift wrinkles and folds. Restylane consists of hyaluronic acid, which is a natural substance already present in your body. Once in the skin, Restylane works by creating volume. Restylane can be used to smooth wrinkles, enhance lips and shape facial contours. The most common areas are the glabella lines (between the eyebrows), the nasolabial folds (from the bottom of the nose to the corner of the mouth) and the lips, although other sites can also be treated. During treatment, crystal-clear Restylane gel is injected into the skin in tiny amounts with a very fine needle. The gel produces volume under the wrinkle, which is lifted and smoothed. The procedure is simple and results are practically instantaneous. To optimize your comfort during the procedure, your physician may anesthetise the treatment area. Restylane dissolves naturally with time, and a follow up treatment will be needed if you want to maintain the results. Restylane, like many non-surgical procedures, does not have to be performed by a plastic surgeon, but care should be taken when choosing a clinic.

Trusted Tip on RECRUITING Office Staff

How do I find the right Person?

PROBLEM: You’re hiring a new receptionist. There are 20 people working at your office and it’s an entry level position. There are 6 phone lines, lots of filing and mail that needs to be organized and distributed. The last person was great but she is moving out of the City. She’s given her two weeks notice and you need to find a replacement in a hurry. How do you advertise and find a quality person without spending a fortune?

There are many advertising locations you can use but which one is the best for you?

You need to determine the following:

1. How much of a budget do I have?

2. How much time do I have to sort through resumes and hold interviews?

3. How quick do I need someone?

4. How much notice has the previous person given? Do I want the old person to train the new person?

5. What qualifications do they need to be able to complete the duties as required?

Once you have the answers to these questions, you can begin your search for the perfect replacement!

There are many free resources you can use:

• SaskJobs.ca

• kijiji.ca

• oodle.ca

• Secondary Schools such as colleges will post jobs or post posters of your job for free

• post a job on your company website

• post a job in your local neighbourhood Post Office (if available)

• Don’t forget about word of mouth! Ask around for qualified employees!

Paid resources are endless.

  • Saskatoonjobshop.ca
  • Monster.ca
  • Advertising in the local newspapers,
  • Recruitment ads on TV or radio.

These resources are also great but they depend on your budget. If you find you are strapped for time and don’t have the time to advertise or sift through the mountains of resumes you will get there are a few alternatives.

Hire an Employment Agency. They can help you find either a temporary worker or permanent worker depending on what your needs are. Make sure you have a signed contract that clearly states what the rate per hour is for the employee and what the rate is for having them find a person on your behalf.

Overwhelmed with this process?

Here they share their first TRUSTED TIP on :

Spot and Stain Removal

Stains and soil The majority of stain complaints are actually soil related. For example, many sugar-based spills, such as soft drinks and coffee, leave a sugar residue after removal. This sticky residue readily attracts soil from ordinary shoe traffic, and the resulting discoloured area appears to be a stain.

The same thing happens when spills are cleaned with a detergent solution and the area is not sufficiently rinsed with plain water, leaving a sticky detergent residue. It is important to rinse thoroughly with water and blot dry after removing any spill.

Carpet

No carpet is stain proof, but since many are stain resistant, you have time to act. Remove as much of food spills as possible by scraping the carpet gently with a spoon or a dull knife. Absorb wet spills quickly by blotting repeatedly with white paper or white cloth towels. Always blot; never rub or scrub abrasively, as a fuzzy area may result. When blotting, work from the outer edge in toward the centre of the spot to avoid spreading the spill. Remove the stain using one of the cleaning items from the checklist below. Rinse the cleaned carpet area with water to remove detergent residue that may become sticky and cause rapid re-soiling. Absorb any remaining moisture by placing several layers of white towels over the spot and weighing them down with a heavy object. This step is necessary even when the carpet doesn't seem particularly damp.

Be prepared for any spill with the following checklist:

•White cloths or white paper towels

•Detergent solution Mix mild liquid detergent with water (no more than 1/4 teaspoon of detergent to 32 ounces of water). -A clear, non-bleach liquid dishwashing detergent such as Dawn, Joy, or clear Ivory is recommended. Do not use detergents that are cloudy or creamy because they may leave a sticky residue. •Vinegar solution

•Mix 1 part white vinegar to 1 part water.

•Ammonia solution

•Mix one tablespoon of ammonia to one cup of water. (Do not use on wool or wool-blend carpets.)

•Non-oily nail polish remover

•Chewing gum remover (freeze or solid type)

•Spot Remover

•Use spot removers designed specifically for grease, oil, or tar.

•Specialty Spot Removers Several specialty spotting products are available from cleaning industry suppliers to remove difficult stains.

Laminate Flooring

Care For spots such as candle wax or chewing gum, harden the spot with ice and then gently scrape with a plastic scraper, such as a credit card. Be careful not to scratch the flooring surface. Wipe clean with a damp cloth. Do not wash or wet mop the floor with soap, water, oil-soap detergent, or any other liquid cleaning material. This could cause swelling, warping, delamination, and joint-line separation, and void the warranty.

•Do not use steel wool, abrasive cleaners, or strong ammoniated or chlorinated type cleaners.

•Do not use any type of buffing or polishing machine.
