In their latest tip, they share ideas to frame memorabilia.

Memorabilia Framing from J & S Picture Frame Warehouse

Memorabilia framing is a specialized form of picture framing that involves displaying and preserving cherished items, such as sports jerseys, concert tickets, autographed items, awards, medals, and other memorabilia. Unsure where to begin and what to do?  Foremost, we cannot emphasize enough the importance of trusting your local professional custom framers with your prized sports possessions and family heirlooms.  We do not send your precious signed hockey jersey or your antique treasures away to be framed elsewhere as we complete all projects in-house. It's great to enjoy and share your important treasures rather than leaving them tucked away in that drawer or trunk forgotten and lost.

Here are some tips and considerations for framing memorabilia:

1. Select the Right Frame and Display Case: Choose a frame that complements the item and fits well with the overall style and decor. Depending on the item's size and depth, you may need a shadow box frame or a display case to provide enough space for the memorabilia and any accompanying elements.

2. Use Acid-Free Materials: To protect the memorabilia from deterioration, use acid-free matting, backing boards, and mounting materials. Acid-free materials prevent discolouration, yellowing, and damage over time.

3. Arrange and Mount the Items Carefully: With the help of a qualified designer plan the layout of the memorabilia and any accompanying pieces, such as photos, plaques, objects or descriptive labels. Ensuring that the items are securely mounted, using acid-free mounting techniques like archival corners or adhesive, we attach objects using special tools, invisible threads and special wire while being mindful not to damage or alter the memorabilia in the process.

4. Conservation Framing: If the memorabilia holds significant monetary or sentimental value, consider conservation framing techniques. Conservation framing uses UV-protective glass or acrylic to shield the items from harmful ultraviolet light, preventing fading and damage. It also involves using reversible mounting methods that can be easily undone if necessary.

5. Matting and Background: Matting adds depth and visual appeal to the display. Choose a mat color that complements the item and consider layering multiple mats to create depth and separation between the memorabilia and the frame. Additionally, select a background colour or texture that enhances the overall presentation.

6. Handling and Cleaning: When handling the memorabilia, use clean, dry hands or wear gloves to avoid leaving fingerprints or smudges. Regularly dust the frame and glass gently with a soft, lint-free cloth to keep it clean. If necessary, use a non-abrasive cleaner specifically designed for frames or glass.

7. Secure Mounting: Ensure that the frame has appropriate hanging hardware, such as D-rings and wire or wall buddies that are securely attached to the back. It should be able to support the weight of the frame and the memorabilia. If the item is heavy or delicate, consult with a professional framer to ensure proper mounting and installation.

8. Information and Labeling: Consider including descriptive labels or plaques that provide information about the memorabilia, such as the event, date, or significance. This adds context and enhances the storytelling aspect of the display.

9. Customization and Personalization: Memorabilia framing allows for customization to suit your preferences. You can choose from different frame styles, mat colours, and background options. Additionally, you can add personalized touches like engraved plaques or special cutouts in the matting.

10. Professional Assistance: If you have valuable or delicate memorabilia, or if you're unsure about the framing process, consider seeking professional assistance from a reputable framing shop. Professional framers have the expertise and experience to handle your memorabilia with care and provide guidance on the best framing techniques.

Remember to protect your framed memorabilia from direct sunlight, high humidity, and extreme temperature changes to prevent damage. With proper framing and display, you can showcase your cherished memorabilia while preserving their condition for years to come.

Remember, these tips are general guidelines, and the specific requirements may vary based on the type of artwork, size, and personal preferences. It's always a good idea to consult with our professional framers at J & S Picture Frame Warehouse if you have valuable or delicate pieces that require special attention.

Introducing Sirius Health Thai Massage Clinic and School - Your Trusted Saskatoon Thai Massage Experts

The Trusted Saskatoon Team and community is delighted to extend a warm welcome to Sirius Health Thai Massage Clinic, the latest addition to the Saskatoon Health and Wellness Category.

Sirius Health Thai Massage

Sirius Health Thai Massage Clinic and the Sirius Health Thai Massage School are led by founder Grant Martens and his dedicated team, and their mission is to...

"Promote health and peace through excellence in education, compassion in action, and the deep-rooted connection to Thailand and the lineage of Thai bodywork."

Each member of their team is rigorously trained and holds certifications with the Natural Health Practitioners of Canada. Grant holds further accreditation as both an Advanced Registered Thai Therapist and a Registered Instructor with the Thai Healing Alliance International

Meet Grant Martens

In July 2016, Grant's transformative journey began with his first Thai massage experience in Budapest, Hungary. Struggling with chronic pain due to the demands of a desk job and the physical toll of a farming lifestyle, he found unparalleled relief in just one session of Thai massage, an outcome that had eluded him despite numerous visits to Registered Massage Therapists (RMT). The profound impact of this single massage sparked Grant's curiosity and eventually evolved into a passionate endeavour. Inspired to introduce Thai massage to a broader audience in Canada, he meticulously crafted a business plan.

In January 2017, Grant made the courageous decision to transition from his prior career and fully commit to the world of Thai massage. Since then, he has undertaken extensive training, accumulating over 800 hours of education at renowned schools in Thailand. Grant's dedication and expertise have not only made him one of just eleven Registered Instructors in Canada for Thai massage but also a pivotal figure in expanding the practice of Thai massage. Notably, his involvement in establishing the Thai Massage School, situated conveniently across the courtyard from the clinic, exemplifies his unwavering commitment to fostering the growth of Thai massage in our city, province, and country.

Trusted Angie Shares Her Experience At Sirius Health Thai Massage Clinic

“ Upon entering Sirius Thai Massage Clinic for my first Thai massage experience, I was welcomed by Grant. I was struck by his professionalism, the clinic's immaculate setting, and an overwhelming sense of security and tranquillity. Grant's dedication to delivering an authentic Thai massage experience rooted in tradition is evident. What sets this practice apart is its unique approach, distinct from massages provided by RMTs, as it integrates fascia work, muscle interstice manipulation, assisted stretching, and energy work, yielding remarkably effective results. The experience begins with a soothing foot washing and concludes with a refreshing cup of tea. I will be back!”

Testimonials from Their Clients

The clients of Sirius Thai Massage Clinic consistently sing its praises, highlighting the positive impact on their overall well-being and their encounters with Grant. When we were checking references and speaking to their clients as part of the Trusted verification process, this is what a few of their clients shared...

He sits with you after for tea that has allowed us to build a rapport. He is gentle in delivery and because I have been a client for awhile and the care attention he takes in knowing me personally and my body, he knows what I can handle.  Grant is very professional.  A 10/10 for this business!” - Barb McCaslin

How to Make Your Home Pet-Friendly From Invisible Fence Brand of Saskatchewan

Invisible Fence® Brand systems Saskatchewan are invisible boundary systems for your yard and home! It keeps your pet out of harm's way and prevents unwanted behaviours throughout your home and yard. The systems are safe, humane, and highly recommended by Veterinarians, Behaviorists, and pet experts. Over the last 45 years, they have helped more than two million pets and their owners lead safe and harmonious lives together, and their exclusive training program allows dogs and cats to learn their boundaries without fear, distress, or behavioural harm. Invisible Fence Saskatchewan is your Trusted Saskatoon Pet fencing solution expert!

You love spending time with your pets, but sometimes there are spaces in your home you'd like to keep off-limits. Whether it is a child's room with allergies or a formal dining room you hardly use, many pet owners have areas of their home they would like to limit pet access. Lucky for you, we put together a short video from our Certified Pet Trainer, Sandy Benes, with tips on how to create off-limit pet areas in your home.

1. Create off-limit pet areas

There are several different reasons that pet owners want to create off-limit areas in their homes. Some owners want to keep a pet out of the baby's room or certain bedrooms. Multi-pet households also create off-limit pet areas to give pets their own areas of the house.

There are a few different ways you can create off-limit pet areas in your home. In some cases, using a traditional baby gate to block off access to your door can keep your pet from running out the door. You can also try crating your pet when you know visitors are coming over, or you need to keep your front door open.

Another solution is a Shields® Gate. Our Shields Gates are Invisible® baby gates designed with hallways, doorways and room openings in mind. Shields Gate protects your pets from entering a room, leaving a room, or escaping outside through an open door - giving you the ultimate walk-through pet gate. Our certified trainers teach your pet his boundaries without fear or confusion, so you can be confident your dog will stay within the boundaries you set!

2. Give your pet access outside

We know you could probably use a break from being your pets personal doorman! But your pet needs to get out and about for mental stimulation. Dogs, especially, are social and curious creatures and they need a change of scenery to keep them from getting bored. You can set a timer for every 3-4 hours as a reminder to give your pet that outdoor time they need.

Another option is Doorman™ Electronic Pet Door. With Invisible Fence® Brand’s Doorman, you give your pet the freedom of letting themselves out whenever you see fit. Schedule when and which pet (if you have multiple) has access to your yard. A benefit to the Doorman Pet Door versus a traditional pet door is Doorman ensures that no neighborhood pets or creatures can surprise you in your home. With Doorman, you're expanding your pets range of exploring and curiosity!

3. Protect your pet outside

Keeping your pet out of harms way outside your home is just as important as inside! We know it can be hard letting your pet roam outside especially if you live on a busy road, have a garden bed with plants that are toxic to pets, or have an extremely friendly pet who loves to visit neighbors. One common solution (weather permitting) is to tether your pet. Every state or city has a minimum length a leash, lead, or tether should be for your pet. It's always a good idea to research your specific neighborhood, city, and state rules/regulations before trying this option.

Products like the Boundary Plus Smart™ System and SmartShields™ Solution offers you the ability to give your pet a safe and smart way to play outside. Boundary Plus Smart provides an average of 30% more yard space for your pet to enjoy safely. Connected to an app, you can quickly and easily monitor your fence. Training is provided with the Boundary Plus Smart System so we take care of making sure your pet knows and understands new boundaries.

As far as protecting your stunning flower or vegetable beds and your pets from them, SmartShields Outdoor Solutions blends in naturally with your landscaping- so you can keep your pets out of the flowerbed without disrupting your flowerbed design. This system is perfect for curious pups that love to dig, eat rocks, or munch on plants that are not safe for them. Outdoor Shields Plus is fully compatible with our other Outdoor Solutions including all Invisible Fence® Brand fencing systems.

Invisible Fence Brand of Saskatchewan Explain How to Stop Your Dog From Begging For Food

Have you ever asked yourself: How do I teach my dog to stop begging at the table? How do I prevent my dog from getting in the trash? Or how do I get my dog to stop jumping on the kitchen counter? This blog will address all three of those questions, so you can worry less about your dog begging for food.

How to Stop Your Pet from Jumping on the Kitchen Counter

First things first: there is such a thing as too many paws in the kitchen! If you are hosting guests it may be beneficial to keep pets out of the kitchen when you are prepping food. The last thing guests want on their plate is a few cat hairs. Not only is it a disturbance to the meal, but you don’t need the added chaos when you’re already stressed about mastering your grandma’s turkey recipe.

One way to curb the risk and nix this habit is to introduce new boundaries around your home. For example, you can add a Shields® Gate to the doorway of your kitchen, so your pet can maneuver throughout your home without going in any off-limit areas (counters and trash).

How to Stop Your Dog from Begging at the Table

After your meal is prepared, it is easy to feel sorry for your dog and slide some scraps off the table. We all know at least one guilty dog parent who says they won’t feed their dog at the table and then drops food as it begs. But this only rewards that behaviour and encourages more begging! This is one reason we recommend creating a wider boundary to avoid begging at the table in the first place.

Our most comprehensive indoor solution, the Indoor Shields® Plus Solution helps pets avoid medium-sized areas like a dining room table, kitchen island or commercial-grade range. The signal field works up to 12 feet in diameter, so you and your guests can eat in peace without the temptation of treating your pet.

How to Prevent Your Dog from Getting in the Trash

Survived cooking without your cat stealing food from the counter? Check. Finished eating without your dog begging at the table? Check. Prevent your dog from getting in the trash during clean up? Almost check. Post-meal boundaries are just as important, which is why it's critical that your dog doesn't get in the trash while you're throwing away bones from meat.

It's important to know what foods are bad for cats and dogs so you can be sure to keep your pet out of harms way. We've put together a list of foods to be cautious of:

  1. Onions
  2. Salads with Grapes/Raisins
  3. Salty Snack Food
  4. Casseroles
  5. Yeast Dough
  6. Nuts (typically contains high amounts of oils and fats)
  7. Ham (meats with high fat are dangerous for already overweight pets)
  8. Anything heavy with milk or butter (can cause diarrhea)
  9. Cranberries (unlike grapes, cranberries contain healthy vitamins for pets, but the high amounts of sugar can be bad)
  10. Bones (risk of puncturing, splintering or choking – especially cooked bones!)
  11. Dessert (particularly chocolate desserts or desserts containing nutmeg and cinnamon)
So now that you know why it's important to keep your dog out of the trash, the next question is how to do that. Invisible Fence® Brand’s Micro Shields® Solution is the perfect solution to protect your pets from eating leftovers out of the trash. It is the most discreet way to teach your pet to avoid smaller spaces. The circular signal field adjusts up to three feet across, so you can provide safe indoor boundaries for food-driven pets.

The Trusted Community Welcomes The Kinsmen Foundation -TeleMiracle As Your Newest Trusted Saskatoon Non Profit

Trusted Saskatoon team ran a contest on the Trusted Saskatoon Facebook page at the end of 2018 to find a new category for the Trusted Saskatoon directory. We received 100's of nominations, from children's activities to fencing. However, there was a clear winner; with over 200 nominations, we were thrilled that the new category was Trusted Saskatoon NON-PROFITS!

This was such a good fit, as we have always had a strong community focus; in fact, Trusted was proud to be recognized as the recipient of the Saskatchewan Chamber of Commerce ABEX Award for Community in 2017.

In the fall of 2023, we felt it was time to extend the love, and we said farewell and good luck to two of the Saskatoon Non-profits we had supported and promoted for 5 years as Trusted Partners, Saskatoon Kinette's and SCAT- Street Cat Rescue. We are thrilled to announce that The Kinsmen Foundation - TeleMiracle is our newest non-profit partner.

The Trusted Saskatoon team is thrilled to welcome the Kinsmen Foundation - TeleMiracle to the Trusted Saskatoon community.

We are grateful to have a wonderful relationship with the folks at The Kinsmen Foundation here in Saskatoon. Our sister company, Trusted Marketing Services has been working with The Foundation for the last 10 months, helping them with social media and other marketing pieces, and a past Trusted Saskatoon team member, Carman Praski, is the Fund Development Manager. Carman  introduced us to the organization in 2022, and we are in awe at all they do for this province! We look forward to helping them reach even more people through our networks and assisting them in raising as much money as possible through the 2024 TeleMiracle Telethon, which takes place in Regina February 24th and 25th

"Ring Those Phones"

TeleMiracle, the beloved annual telethon, has been a cornerstone of Saskatchewan culture for decades, raising millions of dollars to support people in need. As we open our hearts and arms to the incredible team at TeleMiracle, let's explore the history of this iconic event and the remarkable impact it has had on the people of Saskatchewan.

The TeleMiracle Legacy

The history of TeleMiracle stretches back to 1977, when it was first introduced as an annual telethon organized by the Kinsmen and Kinettes of Saskatchewan. Over the years, it has become a cherished Saskatchewan tradition, as much a part of the province's cultural fabric as wheat fields and prairie sunsets.

Every year, TeleMiracle unites people across Saskatchewan with a shared purpose: to raise funds to support individuals with medical expenses, special needs, and mobility challenges. The telethon is more than just a fundraiser; it is a symbol of hope, unity, and the indomitable spirit of the people of Saskatchewan.

The Impact of TeleMiracle

TeleMiracle's impact on Saskatchewan cannot be overstated. The funds raised through this annual event go to support a wide range of programs and services, including medical equipment, travel assistance, and other vital resources for individuals facing life-altering challenges. See an example of their impact in the video below.

The Kinsmen Foundation, through TeleMiracle, has played a crucial role in transforming lives and providing much-needed assistance. Many families and individuals have found hope and relief through their initiatives. The positive impact of TeleMiracle extends not only to those directly assisted but also to the entire province. It reflects the compassion and generosity that define the Saskatchewan community.

A Team with Huge Hearts

At the heart of TeleMiracle's success is the remarkable team of dedicated individuals who work tirelessly to make it all happen. The Kinsmen Foundation's dedicated employees, who work tirelessly behind the scenes all year, the Kinsmen and Kinettes of Saskatchewan, along with countless volunteers, have shown unwavering commitment and enormous hearts in their efforts to organize the annual TeleMiracle telethon. They embody the spirit of Saskatchewan, where people come together to help one another, where communities rally in times of need, and where kindness knows no bounds.

This exceptional team exemplifies the very essence of Trusted Saskatoon, where businesses and organizations that are committed to their community and have a genuine desire to make a positive impact are celebrated.

“The Kinsmen Foundation is an amazing organization with a genuine mission to help Saskatchewan residents with miracles of mobility equipment and much needed financial support when they have nowhere else to turn. I’m so humbled and grateful to be able to give my time and talents to making our province a better place, one individual and one family at a time. TeleMiracle is truly rooted in Saskatchewan with such a long-standing tradition of success, and without our generous TeleMIracle donors, who are our true Miracle Makers, we couldn’t do what we do in Helping People Every Day. Thank you, Saskatchewan!” – Carman Praski, Fund Development Manager, Kinsmen Foundation

As we welcome the Kinsmen Foundation's TeleMiracle to Trusted Saskatoon as a Non-Profit , we embrace not only a tradition but a symbol of hope, unity, and the incredible spirit of Saskatchewan. TeleMiracle has touched countless lives, providing assistance, support, and a beacon of hope to those who need it most. We look forward to supporting their continued efforts and to standing alongside this incredible team. In an ever-changing world, it's comforting to know that the values of compassion, community, and a willingness to lend a helping hand remain unwavering in Saskatchewan, and TeleMiracle is a shining example of these qualities. We salute the Kinsmen and Kinettes of Saskatchewan and all who contribute to this incredible endeavor. Together, we'll continue to make a positive impact on our province, as their motto says...
