Trusted Brags about Wiebe Windows & More a Trusted Saskatoon Windows & Doors company

The Trusted Saskatoon Directory team is ecstatic to announce our latest Trusted Saskatoon partner in the  Saskatoon Window, Door & glass category.

Wiebe Windows & More

“A View You Can Trust”

Owner, Bradley Wiebe has been in the window and door business for over a decade and when the Trusted Saskatoon Team spoke with him about why he branched out on his own this is what he had to say:

“I always knew I would be a business owner, when I was younger I always talked and dreamed about all these businesses I would have! Then when I entered the workforce I wanted to gain the skills and experience I needed to do so and when the timing was right it would happen. I’ve been a business owner for over 10 years and could not imagine things being any other way. I love being able to work with my clients to first gain a relationship with them and then second see their smile after I complete their job! That’s the most rewarding part of owning my own company.”

Bradley believes in supporting the community and has volunteered to coach his sons' hockey teams in previous years and has volunteered for the Mending Little Hearts Fund of Saskatchewan. The Mending Little Hearts Fund is a designated fund through the Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital Foundation that designates it's funding to supporting heart families and pediatric cardiology right here in Saskatchewan! Bradley knows a young boy, William who had open heart surgery in 2016 and understands how important it is to support this great cause.

Every client or contractor that has worked with Bradley and the team at Wiebe Windows & More that we spoke to had nothing but positive feedback- read some on the Wiebe listing by clicking here :

A recent client Leanna shared her Wiebe Window experience with us, it really does showcase why he is an ideal Trusted Saskatoon business.

"I have been wanting to get renovations done in my home for many years. When I was put in touch with Brad I was very grateful! I was impressed with his knowledge about what I needed repairing and his recommendations on the best way to do it. I  told him my budget and with the choices, we made together we actually spent less! Brad was always communicating with me in regards to when and what he would be working on and the timeframe it would take. Brad installed new interior doors, casing, baseboards and helped fix some electrical issues that I had. Whenever Brad was at my place working he always cleaned up before he left. My house looks completely different and I know that Brad added value to my home. I would highly recommend him to anyone and that is why I nominated him to trustedsaskatoon.com.  I look forward to having him back to do some more work at my house in the near future!"
-Leanna (Saskatoon)

When it comes to any building, windows are a big factor. They provide light, and add a type of look that is irreplaceable by any type of design. They also provide safety for emergencies. Windows are something that cannot be replaced.

Pane Improvements by Glass Doctor

Windows play an influential role in generating revenue and controlling the costs associated with commercial enterprise. Hospitality, retail, and healthcare industries rely on the inviting, open atmospheres large windows create to attract loyal customers. According to a recent social media analysis, one of the first things guests notice is the view obtained from their windows or balcony. Moreover, Gallup reports that when choosing a hotel for the first time, guests are greatly influenced by the overall “look and feel of the property.”

Glass Doctor® of Saskatoon understands the value customers place on their comfort. Yet, we also recognize the necessity for low-cost energy options. Our glass experts conduct commercial glass installations and large scale improvements that establish a desirable appearance, and enhance window performance. We deliver an effective combination that builds your business, while simultaneously reducing your operational costs.

Improving Guest Comfort

Operations with overnight accommodations, such as hotels or hospitals, focus on creating a welcoming environment. Oversize, multiple windows achieve that goal by generating a bright, cheerful atmosphere and an additional, “green” light source. Yet, guests often prefer muted, warm illumination, rather than harsh glares that effect room temperatures. According to a J.D. Power and Associates 2012 North America Hotel Guest Satisfaction Index Study, uncomfortable room climate ranked as the third highest customer complaint.

While window blinds totally block the view and require long-term cleaning, window tint and low-emissivity (Low-E) films eliminate ultra-violet (UV) light penetration without creating a visual barrier. Customers enjoy the view without the discomfort of rapid heat gain or loss. Window tint is also particularly beneficial in hospital and recovery environments, where quiet rest is prescribed. Tinted films often create soothing surroundings that are peaceful and conducive to healing.

Increase Energy-Efficiency

In addition to providing improved comfort for occupants, window tint and Low-E glass effectively lowers your energy use. UV light is responsible for heat transference that requires your HVAC units and air filtration systems to work overtime. The extra effort prematurely ages these expensive assets, while steadily increasing business energy consumption. Additional usage that translates into higher operational costs.

However, Low-E glass replacements and window tint films play a crucial role in controlling energy use. Llumar recently reported on two large, upscale hotels that were able to reduce their heating and cooling costs by up to 25% using window tint films to block the “greenhouse effect.” Also, by regulating heat transference, healthcare facilities realize immediate expense reductions. The improvements created by tints lay the foundation for executing similar energy-saving projects.

This blog by Glass Doctor is about the safety and structure of the glass you have within your vehicle. As a driver of a vehicle, you are liable for the passengers in your vehicle. Make sure you are keeping them safe!

Passenger Safety Begins with Your Glass

Maintaining your vehicle is important to the safety of both you and your passengers. Vehicle maintenance begins with auto glass care. Your vehicle's glass panes are the first line of defense, whether you're driving your newborn child home from the hospital or dropping your kids off at school.

The glass in your vehicle is different than the glass used in your home. Because your vehicle experiences much more strain on a daily basis, from bumps in the road to rocks that get kicked up by your tires to even fender benders, the glass is designed with safety in mind.

Your Glass Windshields

The windshield is typically the largest glass pane in the vehicle, which is why it's manufactured in a way that's a little bit different than the other glass panes in the vehicle. Windshields are made using laminated glass.

Laminated Glass

Laminated glass is manufactured out of two pieces of glass that are divided by a thin layer of vinyl. These three pieces are then fused together through the lamination process, in which heat and pressure are applied in an autoclave, which is a special type of oven.

When small objects, such as rocks, hit the laminated glass windshield, only the outer layer of the glass will usually break (unless the object is very large and hits the windshield at a high speed). The vinyl helps protect the interior layer of glass from breaking.

If a severe impact does occur that causes both layers of glass to break, then the glass will remain in place even if it shatters. This is because it will usually stick to the vinyl lining, thereby protecting the driver and passengers from sharp pieces of broken glass.

Your Side and Rear Windows

The side and rear windows of a typical vehicle are made using tempered glass instead of laminated glass. The side and rear windows are less likely to be damaged than the windshield and are much smaller, which means less protection is necessary. However, tempered glass does still provide a protective element to the vehicle.

Tempered Glass

Tempered glass is made by heating the glass pane to more than 590 degrees Celsius before it is removed and immediately cooled. This process of heating and cooling (or tempering) helps to make the glass much stronger than un-tempered glass.

When tempered glass is broken, it will disintegrate into smaller pieces of glass, roughly the size of rock salt. Because they won't break into big, sharp pieces, there's less of a risk of injury.

If you auto glass care, whether it's glass pane repair or replacement, then be sure to contact us at Glass Doctor® of Saskatoon for information about our auto glass care services.

It's early now, but winter is coming! The weather has been crazy this past year, so who knows what winter 2017/2018 will bring us! Be prepared with some tips from the experts at Glass Doctor! These guys really know what they're talking about when it comes to this type of thing! Listen to what Glass Doctor says in their blog about Home Window Care in the Winter!

Anyone who recalls the great blizzard of 2007 knows that winters in Saskatoon can be extremely harsh. That’s why it’s so important to give your home a once-over and perform any necessary winter preparation tasks and repairs before the cold sets in. Getting your home ready for the cold winds, snow, and ice is critical for keeping everyone inside safe and warm. Taking a proactive approach to winter prep also lowers your energy bills, increases the efficiency and lifespan of windows and appliances, and makes your property safer. Glass Doctor of Saskatoon offers a wide range of services to help you get ready.

Double Pane Windows

If your home’s windows and doors are properly sealed, warm air stays inside and energy efficiency is considerably increased. One of the best ways to prevent air leakage is by installing double pane windows. When Saskatoon’s winter storms arrive, you’ll be thankful for the extra protection and increased comfort they provide. Replacing your old leaky windows with Energy Star® qualified insulated glass units (IGUs) can be one of the smartest home investments you make – one that will keep your entire family warm for years to come.

If your home already has double pane windows, take a look to see if any condensation has built up under the panes, or if a milky appearance limits visibility. This is an indication that the seals have failed and the insulating vacuum or gas between the panes has escaped. That’s the time to replace the panes and have any other window repair work done. Since your home’s doors and windows are the main locations where cold air seeps in, make sure all the windows and doors are properly sealed.

Window Glass Maintenance, Repair and Replacement

There are some simple window maintenance tasks you can do yourself. There are times, though, when you’ll have to call Glass Doctor of Saskatoon professionals. Having a thorough inspection of your windows is one of the most reliable ways to uncover hidden issues that can cause extensive damage. Window damage is not always readily apparent to an untrained eye, so calling in an expert to assess what shape your windows are in can save you money down the road in utility costs.

Home Glass Emergency- Advantage Plan

Want to stay on top of window glass repair and replacement? You may want to think about a service like the Glass Doctor of Saskatoon Advantage Plan® which offers priority service for residential customers in times of emergency window glass repair needs. The transferable, fee-based service also offers a discount on future home and auto glass repairs.

Spending just a little time and money now to maintain your home for winter can save you thousands in damage down the road. Take these simple steps to protect your home and you’re officially ready for winter!
