In March 2005 after realising the potential of Bateman’s, Cam Kripki, a long-time employee, and John Scarfe, a long-time customer who had a gemology background, entered into a partnership with their wives (Jan and Laurie) to purchase Bateman’s from George’s daughter, Marilyn. In 2015, John decided it was time for him to find a new challenge after the unfortunate passing of his wife, Laurie, in 2011.So, in 2016, Cam and Jan Kripki bought John’s shares in Bateman’s and became the sole owners.
